Much of February has been cold and along with the cold, we've had steady hits of snow. While most of the snow has been light, it slowly adds up.
The snow last week helped me get to half of my prediction in Sioux Falls with a total so far this year at a little over 22 inches. I'm also halfway there in the Hills and close to half in Rapid City. But it's been a dry season in central and northeast South Dakota with snow amounts being less than a foot.
Aberdeen is 17 inches below average through mid-February when it comes to snowfall, Pierre is under by eight inches. But there's still time.
While light snow is possible Thursday, there's more snow possible early next week as much colder air returns. We'll have to wait and see who gets what.
